Highlights from BRDC British Formula 3 Championship 2016 on Front Runner
New sports channel Front Runner will add to its coverage of motorsports this weekend by airing highlights from the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship 2016 in the show ‘British F3 – Season Review’.
The show will be aired on Saturday (December 17) at 4pm on Freeview and Talk Talk/BT.
The renowned British Formula 3 category returned to the UK motorsport scene in 2016 as the revitalised BRDC British Formula 3 Championship. The season consisted of 24 rounds across eight venues, including the legendary Grand Prix circuits at Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Spa Francorchamps. Drivers from over 10 countries around the world competed.
Ryan Scarratt, of Front Runner, said: “Front Runner already showcases a wide variety of sports and motorsport has always been an exciting area we’ve been looking at developing further.
“We’ve started by airing highlights from this year’s 24H Series on Sunday evenings at 6pm with repeats throughout the week. As that series continues, we’re delighted to be adding Formula 3 to our programming schedule too.”
Richard Hay, producer of British F3 – Season Review, said: “The British F3 Championship has a long and proud history stretching back over 50 years. Race winners and champions include names like Senna, Hakkinen, Button and Ricciardo.
“Thanks to Jonathan Palmer it has been rejuvenated for 2016 and as the premier UK single seater series it is the best place to see the Formula One stars of the future honing their skills.”

BRDC British Formula 3 Championship was revitalised in 2016 with a new Tatuus Chassis. The season consisted of 24 rounds across eight venues, including the legendary Grand Prix circuits at Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Spa Francorchamps. Each weekend featured a three race format with one race being a semi reverse grid race meaning the winner of the previous race started in eighth place. Drivers from over 10 countries around the world competed.
